Bayer Diagnostics Manufacturing based in Sudbury, Suffolk manufacture equipment used in Critical Care Areas in hospitals for medical diagnosis.

Their requirement was to fill extremely foamy liquids into plastic containers with improved accuracy and speed, on a machine that had only plastic contact parts as the product became contaminated by stainless steel. Universal Filling Machine Company manufactured a Posivac, six head fully automatic vacuum level filling machine and tailored the machine to include modifications to the conveyors, filling nozzles, feed pipes and drip tray. Off the shelf machines are almost a thing of the past and Universal uses its standard machines as a base and work with each client to provide the right solution.
