The Challenge:
In 2013 Combino Pharm Malta contacted Universal looking for a flexible cap tightening solution for their bottling area at the Malta production plant.
Combino Pharm required a cap tightening machine for pharmaceutical bottles with pre-threaded screw caps at speeds up to 25 bottles per minute. The product range was expanding and they wanted a machine which would accommodate different bottles and closures in the future.

The Solution:
To achieve 25 bottles per minute, Universal proposed the Posicap in-line automatic cap tightening machine. This versatile automatic cap tightening machine can handle a wide range of bottle sizes and cap diameters. Using an in-line gating system, different bottle and cap changeovers are simple and do not require expensive change parts that are associated with star wheels systems. The machine also has the benefit of future expandability and can be upgraded to a twin head system if faster production speeds are required.
